To everyone at Colegio Isaac Rabin;

My experience at Colegio Isaac Rabin was more than anything I expected for this trip. As the trip went on, the more we learned about the country of Panamà and made closer friendships with the students in Panamà. By being with the students and staying with the families of the school, we got to not only tour the city but experience the lifestyle in a different way. We all felt so welcomed in the school and the homes we stayed in. The kids from Milken learned so much from the students at Isaac Rabin by just doing daily activities with them and going to Las Gaitas together. We all formed such amazing friendships on this trip that are unforgettable. We are all hoping that they can all come to Los Angeles so we can return the favor and to see everyone from Isaac Rabin again!

Colegio Isaac Rabin:

My first thought about this trip before arriving to Panama was that it would be difficult to try and connect to the kids and communicate with them. I expected them to be closed, cliquey, and indifferent- we were a bunch of American kids ‘invading’ their space and environment. So overall I had low expectations. But each and every student surprised me- they were the complete opposite. The students were open, welcoming, warm, interested in our lives, and loving. They surpassed all my preconceptions. And I really believe that learning about a culture comes from the individuals, and they taught me so much in that sense. They were energizing and compelling- not like most people I know.

Colegio Isaac Rabin:

I think this was an amazing trip and I had a great time.I think that it was very beneficial to go to school and spend so much time with the other kids because we were able to see and experience the culture. I’m glad that we were able to do the service project because everyone got a lot closer and it was very impactful experience.  The students, staff, and my hosts are so warm and welcoming and I look forward to keeping in touch with all the friends that I made. I hope they can come to LA next year.

Colegio Isaac Rabin:

Going on the Panama Tiyul was the most unique amazing time I could have ever experienced. I did not know what to expect when signing up but once I arrived in Panama, I was instantly greeted with warm welcomes and friendly faces. The teacher and students at Isaac Rabin were so kind to us throughout the whole trip as we explored the city. The students were so inclusive and welcoming and we’ve made many friendships in a week span. The kids were so kind and outgoing.  It would be so amazing if the students had the chance to come to LA and experience Milken and tour the city. Overall, Isaac Rabin and the people have made this trip worthwhile.
